Koda Ranch, Golden, Colorado
Koda Ranch is my most involved project to date. I met my wonderful clients when they were relatively newly married and had just started working with their New York based architect. Three years (and two kids later) they have their dream home- a 8000 sq. ft. modern farmhouse with a nearby barn and working ranch. Madeleine Design completed every detail of the 5 bedroom, 7 bath home in a neutral palette using rustic reclaimed hardwood for the floors, painted tongue and groove for the vaulted ceilings, and many built-ins for various uses throughout the home. A built-in breakfast nook sits adjacent to the two story kitchen equipped with Colorado Mule Marble for the counter tops and a 5 ft. wide galley sink. The Master bath is tiled floor to ceiling with a Venatino Marble and includes a steam shower and custom ladder leading to a yoga/meditation loft above.
When it came time to furnish the home, that’s when the fun really began. We used a mix of high end B&B Italia and Taracea for the Great Room and more modern and affordable options from Blu Dot and Land of Nod for the upstairs and kids areas. Along with unique furniture and accessories from The Citizenry and Roost and a variety of rugs and artwork, we created a livable, rustic yet modern retreat for, the now, family of four.
